Ours is the Fury Brown to Verily
Colour: Brown
Adult Size: 16-in length x 28-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Dragonblossom and Wunderingmind

Physical Description:

The Ours is the Fury Brown carries himself with all the regality of a bronze. He definitely thinks he is king of the jungle but he doesn’t seem to understand that no one else sees him as such. He is as big as a small bronze, after all! Who’s to say he isn’t in fact a bronze with a bit duller of a hide? The Ours is the Fury Brown definitely has the bulk to be a force to be reckoned with.

The Ours is the Fury Brown’s hide falls on the lighter, warmer side of the brown spectrum. He has a bit of a mottling to his hide. Some spots look browner while other spots look more orange. The Ours is the Fury Brown has two distinct markings that tell him apart from other browns. There is a dark mahogany brown dappling dusting his hindquarters and a light golden-brown ring that looks like a crown encircling his headknobs.

Personality

The Ours is the Fury Brown has a competitive streak especially when it comes to Verily’s other firelizard Hazard. He is always trying to outdo him. He wants to be number one it comes to Verily’s affections and in the eyes of other firelizards. He knows he is the best firelizard on Pern but it isn’t enough for him to know it. He wants everyone else to acknowledge it too. It infuriates him that no one does. In spite of his frustration, he won’t lash out to harm. He will most likely just snarl and snap in warning. However, if he is poked and prodded enough he will feel the need to put the others in their place.

While the Ours is the Fury Brown thinks he alone deserves to be the leader of the flock, the truth is he probably isn’t the best choice. He is harsh and stern with others not tolerating a single misstep but he himself runs around causing a ruckus. The best shouldn’t have to adhere to the same rules, surely? The Ours is the Fury Brown gets caught up on little details and often fails to see the big picture.

The Ours is the Fury Brown actually doesn’t show much interest in females. Oh, he will occasionally give chase, he has to keep up appearances after all, but more often than not he is more focused on outshining Hazard.

Family, Duty, Honor Green to Ragnar
Colour: Green
Adult Size: 9-in length x 11-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Jey

Physical Description:

The Family, Duty, Honor Green looks like her wings stopped growing long before they were supposed to. She isn’t extraordinarily long so her short wings don’t look too out of place but long distance flying will never be her strong suit. She is an excellent swimmer though. She ducks in and out of the water as she had been born a fish. The Family, Duty, Honor Green has the typical green build. Thin, agile, and fast.

The Family, Duty, Honor Green has a lovely sea green hide. There is a stripe, darker than the base color of her sea green hide but still a light green, that runs from the top of her neck to the tip of her tail. She’s got a smattering of emerald spots across her back and wings.

Personality

For the Family, Duty, Honor Green, family comes first. She will fuss over his scruffy appearance and crow with pride over his charts, even if the work is subpar. If he isn’t using it, she will display a well-tied sailor’s with an air of ‘look at what my Ragnar did!’ She likes to cuddle and will become slightly distraught if Ragnar refuses to let her dote on him. All she really want is for Ragnar to be safe, prosperous, and happy.

The Family, Duty, Honor Green knows she isn’t the strongest, most prestigious firelizard so she seeks alliances with those who are. She will probably have a few bronze retainers that she can call on if necessary to defend her. Often these bronzes will be bonded to important people in Ragnar’s life. Master Seacrafters, Candidatemasters, and the like. It is her duty to help him succeed in his ventures, after all. This trait might just soften Ragnar on the idea of firelizards.

The Family, Duty, Honor Green has a bit of a lusty streak. She will become a bit of a pill when her flight nears and she will rise often and regularly. She knows she should choose the most influential mate but sometimes she just can’t help but go for the low man on the totem pole.

Winter is Coming Blue Ghost to S'gir
Colour: Blue
Adult Size: 12-in length x 20-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Shouriko

Physical Description:

The Winter is Coming Blue is solidly in the average range for length and wingspan. However, he has the looks of a creature who has survived a long, rough winter. He is scraggy and sinewy with a ratty look to his hide that no amount of feeding and oiling can improve. That is alright with the Winter is Coming Blue though. He may not look like much but he always carries himself with dignity and strength.

The Winter is Coming Blue has an ashen grey-blue hide. It appears more faded in some patches but, due to the very pallid nature of his hide, the patches will be barely perceptible to anyone who hasn’t spent extensive time bathing and oiling him. His left wing looks like something tried to tear a chunk out of it but on closer inspection it is clear that his wing isn’t actually tattered. It is just a collection of darker grey-blue spots that look like scars.

Personality

Grim, serious, the Winter is Coming Blue is not just a frivolous adornment. He is tough, hard-working, and wastes no time with laughter. He is an honorable creature. To him, there is one right course of action and his only option is to follow that even if it risks his safety. He has no mind for intrigue and assumes that everyone else conducts themselves with honor. Because of this, he is exceptionally easy to manipulate and it will get him into trouble a time or two.

The Winter is Coming Blue is very dedicated to his family. He might be grim and serious but he loves S’gir very much. He might not express this with cuddles and nuzzles but he will in another ways. If S’gir is having a bad day, he might bring him some of his favorite snacks from the kitchen. If the weyr needs tidying up, S’gir might return to find things already organized into piles. If the Winter is Coming Blue notices that S’gir’s oil running low, he will fetch a replacement all without having to be asked. He is quite a handy little blue. He will build quite the impressive little den for himself on the top of the dresser.

The Winter is Coming Blue is a one gal sort of firelizard. Most of the time he won’t stray very far from S’gir but if he finds that certain special lady. He will chase her unfailingly and help her out afterwards when she is egg heavy (only if she permits him to, of course).

As High as Honor Blue to Finla
Colour: Blue
Adult Size: 11-in length x 16-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling

Physical Description:

On the larger side of average, the As High as Honor Blue is a well-proportioned firelizard. His wingspan is perfectly matched to his length and he has just the right combination of muscle and leanness. He is built for speed and agility.

While he has the average blue build, the As High as Honor Blue is extraordinarily pretty. His light sky blue hide is the color of the sort that makes all the greens sigh. That isn’t all they have to look at though. His wings almost look like they made out of feathers not hide. He has a series of even lighter blue markings that come together to give off the impression of feathers. He has another silvery blue crescent shaped marking at the crown of his head.

Personality

The As High as Honor Blue carries himself with dignity and import. His polite, respectful mannerisms win him points with the more powerful golds and bronzes which make them more open to his suggestions. This talent for making powerful friends and allies will be a useful skill for his Finla. She needs all the diplomacy that she can get. It’s not easy hacking it in a man’s profession, after all!

The As High as Honor Blue tends to be drawn to high places. When he is grown, he will spend more time flying then riding around on Finla’s shoulder (unless the occasion calls for it, of course). He will often find the tallest spot to make his perch whether that be in the roof rafters or the crow’s nest on a ship. He believes that as long as he is up there he can see anything coming. However, he sometimes misses the obvious. That other creatures on Pern can fly too !

In spite of his sigh worthy hide, the As High as Honor Blue seems to have rather bad luck with females. For some inexplicable reason, every time he tries to chase a female something happens that prevents him from finishing a flight. A twig to the face that just about knocks him out, a particularly aggressive competitor, something that gets in the way. It isn’t for lack of trying! He chases often but wins infrequently. His bad luck appears to be genetic as any clutch he manages to sire does not fare well in life.

The Onion Knight Brown Noble to Mavin
Colour: Brown
Adult Size: 14-in length x 23-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Jey

Physical Description:

The Onion Knight Brown is just your ‘every guy’ brown. He is smack dab in the middle of average for length and wingspan. He definitely has a defined musculature, this brown isn’t a stranger to hard work, but he is by no means as bulky as a bronze. Similarly, he is agile but not as nimble as a quick turning blue. The Onion Knight Brown is normally proportioned except for one oddity. His claws seem to be a good deal shorter than the average firelizard.

The Onion Knight Brown won’t win any beauty pageants. Just like his shape, his color is just a nondescript brown. He certainly won’t stand out in a crowd but he seems to like it that way. Flying under the radar is more his style. He has only one marking. One the inside of his right hindquarter, there is a triangle shaped black splotch. The only person likely to know that it is there is his bonded.

Personality

A humble creature, The Onion Knight Brown doesn’t stand on ceremony or pretense. He doesn’t strut around like he is someone grand and important. He knows he is just an everyman brown who tries to do right by Mavin and Gleem. He is exceptionally loyal to them both. It will be as much a surprise to him as anyone if he has bronzes and gold looking to him for his opinion. It must be his honesty that makes him an attractive companion since he isn’t one for games and he has little interest in gaining power and influence.

The Onion Knight Brown has a few naughtier habits that Mavin will be unable to fully break him of. Shiny baubles, unattended bubbly pie trays, seem to go missing when this brown is around. He is a master of making away with things undetected though. It will be very hard to trace these crimes back to him. Not that it justifies his behavior, but he does only take things from those who have more than enough. He would never steal a poor little girl’s last dolly, for instance. He will, however, use these skills to help Mavin in his pursuits. All Mavin has to do is ask.

When it comes to flights, The Onion Knight Brown will generally be loyal to one female though he might have a few indiscretions on the side over the course of his life.

Our Blades are Sharp Green to Murrin
Colour: Green
Adult Size: 10-in length x 22-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Shouriko

Physical Description:

The Our Blades are Sharp Green will attain only an average length but her wingspan tops the charts of her color. If it weren’t for the color of her hide, people might think she was a blue. This green has an eerie aura that clings to her like a shroud. She moves like a tunnelsnake, soft and sly. The creepy feeling the Our Blades are Sharp Green leaves behind isn’t helped by the way her muscles seem to bulge very close to surface. It is almost like you can see right through her hide to the workings beneath.

The Our Blades are Sharp Green’s hide is a pale, almost translucent green. She has no markings to speak of or even the slightest variation of shading anywhere on her body.

Personality

The Our Blades are Sharp Green will develop quite the reputation by the time she reaches maturity. She will be known as a cool, emotionless firelizard whose very presence is associated with a soft menace. While it is unlikely that anyone will notice her presence right away, when they do they’ll realize she has heard everything that they’ve said and intends to use this knowledge for her own means. She has little regard for others. She seems to particularly enjoy the hunt and, once she is old enough, she’ll hunt down all her meals. The Our Blades are Sharp Green has a nasty habit of playing with her food before she kills it.

Not one to form attachments, the Our Blades are Sharp Green has one exception. Murrin. He has taken care of her since she was a hatchling, after all. She will tolerate his pets and cuddles but she won’t seek out these affections. She acts in her own self-interest and in Murrin’s. She wants him to become powerful and influential. She can become fierce in his defense but tends to be slyer in her pursuits. She has no sense of honor to hold her back.

The Our Blades are Sharp Green won’t form an attachment to any particular male when she starts to rise. She will choose whoever is convenient to her. She will have very little interest in tending to her eggs and unless Murrin takes it upon himself to look after them it is doubtful that any will reach the hatching stage.

Fire and Blood Gold Hysteria to Morran
Colour: Gold
Adult Size: 20-in length x 35-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Dragonblossom and Wunderingmind

Physical Description:

The Fire and Blood Gold falls on the large side of golds. She is strong but lean with long, nimble limbs. She uses her tail like a fifth appendage. She can grab things with it and hand them to others. Sometimes you’ll even see her sitting around feeding herself with her tail. The Fire and Blood Gold has a sturdy set body but she still manages to be very agile. She can twist like she doesn’t have a spine at all. The ridges along her back are very pronounced and you might find one poking into you if you let her cuddle with you.

The Fire and Blood Gold has an interestingly colored hide. Everyone knows that dragons and firelizards don’t have scales and yet that is exactly what the Fire and Blood Gold’s hide looks like. The base of her hide is an orange-gold that is broken up into diamond-like scales by dark bands of red-gold. The patterning is everywhere on her body except for her underbelly.

Personality

The Fire and Blood Gold can be unpredictable. It is almost impossible to read her moods. Her eyes might be swirling in calm, happy tones but when someone goes to pet her she’ll nearly snap their finger right off. The next moment she will be all thrums and cuddles. There is no rhyme or reason to her sudden mood shifts. Morran might be able to get a better read on the Fire and Blood Gold in time but the most he can do is duck for cover when one of her moods come around.

In spite of her unpredictable nature, the Fire and Blood Gold is a natural born leader. She is tough and uncompromising but fair in her judgments. Morran will find her to be a shrewd and crafty companion. She has a knack for finding out what makes others tick and using that to her advantage. She will often help him suss out his patients by following them to report back on their activities.

The Fire and Blood Gold has a lusty nature. She is not above using her womanly wiles to charm others. She enjoys the company of males but they better tread carefully. As soon as they start thinking they can give her suggestions on what to do, she will lash out and send them from her presence. And forgive and forget isn’t her style.

We Do Not Sow Bronze Farron to Sayrie
Colour: Bronze
Adult Size: 17-in length x 28-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Jey

Physical Description:

The We Do Not Sow Bronze lacks the regality that his bronze sibling seems to exude with every breath. Instead, he has this scrappy look to him like he’ll start a fight with anyone who looks at him askance. He is not overtly large or muscular; in fact, he is rather slim for a bronze. Stamina won’t be his strong suit but the We Do Not Sow Bronze is fast and quick to strike when an opportunity presents itself.

The We Do Not Sow Bronze certainly looks like he has seen better days. He is by no means the pretty glowing boy that some golds like. His hide has a weathered, washed-out quality to it like well-worn sails. The We Do Not Sow Bronze’s has several darker bronze stripes that spread out like tentacles over his hindquarters.

Personality

The scrappy look of the We Do Not Sow Bronze is not just for an outward show. This bronze is as tough as old hide as evidenced by his appearance. He picks fights with everyone, even if they are considerably larger and more powerful than him. He will fight over territory, food, females, or even with those who don’t look at him with the proper respect. In his mind, anything that he wants he can have as long as he is strong enough to take it. Sayrie will most likely find an assortment of precious things stashed out in her weyr that don’t belong to her.

Not known for his well thought out decisions, the We Do Not Sow Bronze will not be easy to train. He’ll listen to good advice then do exactly what he had planned to do in the first place. He tends to belittle those who have more diplomatic ways of dealing with things as soft. He isn’t a very affectionate firelizard but he likes Sayrie well enough. He might even steal her some pretty jewels on occasion.

When the We Do Not Sow Bronze reaches maturity, he will chase every female firelizard that rises. He won’t be one for wooing. He will fly hard, snarl and swipe at his competitors, then go for a grab.

Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown Sunspear to Bertran
Colour: Brown
Adult Size: 15-in length x 25-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Wunderingmind

Physical Description:

The Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown will grow to an average length and wingspan. He stands rather tall for a firelizard and he won’t have the ungainly gait that some firelizards have on the ground. His steps are quick and sure and he will be just as comfortable on the ground as in the air. The Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown’s has wide-set eyes with a long snout. His head is topped with long and very pointy looking headknobs.

The Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown’s hide looks like sun baked sand. It is a warm, comforting color. He only has one marking on his entire body. A red-brown sunburst on his chest.

Personality

A proud creature, the Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown does not easily forgive wrongs. He won’t lash out in anger in the moment, in fact, his affect will almost be flat but, beware, this firelizard holds grudges for as long as his memory permits. From the moment the wrong occurred, he will be plotting how to get his revenge. The Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown seems to have a particular animosity for the Hear Me Roar Bronze. No one will be quite sure why but, if he ever learns of the bronze’s plans, he will actively try to thwart it.

The Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown is quite affectionate with his family members i.e. Bertran and Indigo. He always acts in their best interests and he won’t take kindly to anyone trying to mess with them. He will take on almost fatherly airs when he is interacting with them which is somewhat amusing since he is the youngest out of the two of them.

Not the serial chaser sort, the Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken Brown will most likely have two or three favorites that he routinely chases. If he is lucky enough to catch, he will take a very active role in helping out the egg heavy dam. He’ll bring her everything she desires and, when the little ones hatch, he will dote on them.

Growing Strong Green Alla to Surindal
Colour: Green
Adult Size: 11-in length x 20-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Wunderingmind

Physical Description:

The Growing Strong Green is a diminutive little creature. Oh, she will reach an average length and a somewhat above average wingspan but she will still be small. She hasn’t got an ounce of muscle on her and even less fat. The Growing Strong Green’s ribs will always be visible as faint outlines on her hide. She has slender legs, body, and wings. She’ll always have her wings neatly folded when she isn’t flying and she arches her neck giving off almost coy expression.

The Growing Strong Green has a lush, dark green hide with turquoise undertones. Starting at her claws, she has green-gold bands that curve up her legs like vines. The vines meet and entangle when the reach her spine then curl out over her wings ending in what looks like an opening flower bud at the tips of her wings.

Personality

The Growing Strong Green is a sweet, loving firelizard. She will be quite easy for Surindal to train as she is eager to please and impress. She wants everyone to love her so all of Surindal’s friends and acquaintances will know her to be a very obliging firelizard. She is especially concerned with the welfare of those less fortunate than herself. She’ll visit infirmary patients to offer comfort and she’ll bring little gifts to drudges.

Underneath that affectionate exterior, the Growing Strong Green is actually rather sharp. Others tend to underestimate her as nothing more than a pretty, delicate little flower. While she is friendly with everyone, she does have a tendency to make friends with people who are in a position to help improve Surindal’s station or grant her favors. She will rarely take sides in a dispute unless it is clear that one will come out on top.

The Growing Strong Green enjoys a good flight but she won’t be as lusty as some of her green sisters. She will rise around four times a Turn and she will develop of short list of favorite males that she will allow to catch her. When it comes to clutching, as long as Surindal helps her prepare a safe place to lay her eggs, she will be a doting as any gold.

Hear Me Roar Bronze Russ to S'wyn
Colour: Bronze
Adult Size: 19-in length x 32-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Shouriko

Physical Description:

The Hear Me Roar Bronze is everything a bronze should be. Large, powerful, and regal. When he is done growing, he’ll be all rippling muscle and lithe grace. He has got a long body with an even longer tail but a short neck. His legs are sturdily built and end in large paw-like feet. The Hear Me Roar Bronze Bronze’s face is wide with a boxy-shaped snout and short, rounded headknobs. He, more than any of his siblings, is the spitting image of his dam.

The Hear Me Roar Bronze Bronze has a rich golden bronze hide. There are swatches of different shades of a darker, more rustic golden bronze color that covers his neck and headknobs like a mane. He’s got two vertical dark bronze lines above his eyes and the very tip of his tail ends in the same color.

Personality

The Hear Me Roar Bronze is all about increasing his power and authority. He doesn’t just want to be a bronze. He wants to be the bronze. He will be working towards the goal from the moment he hatches. He has no qualms about putting immoral plans into action. To him, fear is just another form of respect.

The Hear Me Roar Bronze is attached to S’wyn and Neovith but not in the sentimental sense. Sure, he’ll cuddle up on S’wyn’s pillow at night but he is more interested in how S’wyn can further his legacy. It is better to be the firelizard of a Weyrleader or Wingleader, after all, so he will prod both dragon and rider to make the right connections and reach higher.

When it comes to flights, the Hear Me Roar Bronze will only ever chase after females who are related to him. His preference is for his full siblings but half-siblings and nieces will do in a pinch. He needs to keep his bloodline pure after all.

The Late Lord Blue Septmus to Phyrra
Colour: Blue
Adult Size: 14-in length x 14-in wingspan
Age: Hatchling
Firelizard Art: Wunderingmind

Physical Description:

An odd looking firelizard, The Late Lord Blue is as long as he is wide. If you were to take a tape measure, his wingspan would be exactly the same as his length not a millimeter more or less. Those tiny wings aren’t great at supporting his weight during flight. If The Late Lord Blue was a wild firelizard, he might just starve. As it is, he will rarely bother hunting for himself. It is his person’s job to carry him around and see him fed.

The Late Lord Blue has a muted navy blue hide. He has got a steel blue bridge at the crown of his head between his headknobs. His wings have an interesting patterning. There are segments that almost look like waves crashing on the shore. Each successive segment gets lighter until it fades to a swirling white at the tips.

Personality

The Late Lord Blue wants to be taken seriously but no one seems to with his oddly shaped body and inability to fly well. The way others look down their noses at him grates on his nerves. Even as a young firelizard, he will be a horrible curmudgeon. If things don’t go his way, Phyrra can expect a huge tantrum to ensue. Afterwards, he will become surly and distance. The Late Lord Blue will seek to repay any slights real or imagined.

The Late Lord Blue rarely feels the need to exert himself so he often backtracks on promises he made. If Phyrra asks him to deliver letters, she’ll find that her letters never arrive or worse they’re delivered to the one person who she didn’t want to read it. He has a tendency to play others off each other without ever getting officially involved. He will be behind many attempts to rile up her flock; though, he does seem to keep a good face on for Phyrra and Femaith.

When it comes to flights, The Late Lord Blue will be quite the chaser which is a great source of amusement to others since he isn’t exactly aerodynamic. That doesn’t stop him though! Even if, more often than not, he fails.
