Gold Bacapth x Bronze Ciourath Egg List T2

These are the eggs of gold Bacapth's sixth clutch, sired by bronze Cioruath.

Total: 26

Egg Name: Good Omens Egg
Egg Description: This large egg has splashes of three distinct colors; red, black and white. On the crown of the egg the white for a halo-ish shape, while the red forms a set of two shapes that look like small goat horns on either side of the egg. No one is really sure why or how this pattern came about, but it draws the attention, like something important. If one were to look at this egg for too long, one could begin to think this egg was laughing at you, in all your human-ness.
Egg Inspiration: Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman

Egg Name: Maze Egg
Egg Description: The background of this fairly large egg is a plain, sterile white. Scattered across the shell are flecks of an almost metallic silver. Running helter-skelter across the egg are lines of red and brown, creating a confusing pattern. Some candidates try to trace the interconnected lines and find an ending, but it seems impossible.
Egg Inspiration: The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock by T.S. Eliot.
"Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherised upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument…"

Egg Name: Keep Them Running Egg
Egg Description: This egg, a milky white hue, is easily passed over by the eye, almost invisible in nature. It is of small size, and seems to have a black core, if one focuses enough upon the round shape to see the slight darkness at it's center.
Egg Inspiration: Invisible Man

Egg Name: The Niffy Egg
Egg Description: This egg is covered in a deep charcoal black, barely any variation in color the whole way round. The few changes in the egg's color appear to just be a few lighter lines on one side of the egg, which are patterned like feline whiskers. The egg is a bigger medium sized egg.
Egg Inspiration: Anne McCaffrey's No One Noticed the Cat

Egg Name: Jet Egg
Egg Description: This egg is small, but eye catching. The shell is a pure, ebony black almost all the way through. If you get up close, you can see a faint purple blotch on the crown of the egg. Maybe it's all in your head, but some people who touch this egg feel a little itchy afterwards.
Egg Inspiration: The Flea by John Donne, a metaphysical poem which tries to convince a lady into bed by showing that mixing their blood in a flea hasn't done any harm.
"This flea is you and I, and this
Our marriage bed, and marriage temple is;
Though parents grudge, and you, we are met,
And cloystered in these living walls of jet."

Egg Name: Athena's Wit Egg
Egg Description: This egg is bright, there isn't a better way to describe it. The aura it gives off is one of loving deceit; one could say the egg encourages those sharp of mind and tongue. It's a larger egg, colored in tones of yellow. The top of the egg starts a darker tangerine color, which fades into a bright lemon yellow in the middle, only to darken once more to the tangerine color.
Egg Inspiration: Athena from The Odyssey

Egg Name: Dapplegrim Egg
Egg Description: The shell is a dappled mix of grey and white that covers it's entire shell bar the base, which is covered with a black that seems to shine. The grey seems to darken and lighten in random areas, changing as you walk around the shell and turn your head this way and that, the spots of white adding not only to the effect but to it's lightness compared to some of it's siblings, somehow making it appear bigger. Near the top there is a strip down it's side that is nearly all white.
Egg Inspiration: When he goes to see them, they each have a foal, and there is, in addition, a dapple-gray colt. It persuades him to kill all the foals so that it can suckle from all twelve mares all year. – Dapplegrim (Norwegian Fairytale, 1845)

Egg Name: Bright Eyes Egg
Egg Description:
For an egg hidden behind it's clutch mates, it's a startingly beautiful one, full of oranges, reds and blacks. Banded orange, the colour is almost faded against the black and almost seems to shimmer in what little light it may receive. The stripes are not even, indeed they range from length to length, never touching each other or themselves, and never truly banding the egg. The tips of these stripes point, and the whole effect is one of a Terran tiger, only the opposite way around. What is most stunning about this egg however is the two pointed ovals on one side of it. Not faded like the stripes, they seem to glare out with a mix of red and orange, hints of black just peeking through where it fades. They look so much like eyes that some people are freaked out by them.
Egg Inspiration: Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright, In the forests of the night, What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Egg Name: The Nevermore Egg
Egg Description: A dull grey all over, this egg is lined with the suggestions of corners and a door. An almost square section of egg gives the impression of an open window, with curtains fluttering in the breeze. Above the top of the 'door' seems to perch a large black bird, eye glinting downwards to an almost human shadow on the 'floor' of the egg. To one side of the egg are hints of red, alomst looking like glowing coals in a fireplace, which cast off a pale red glow to part of the egg 'room' Looking at the whole picture, you can almost hear tapping, as of some one gently rapping, rapping at the egg 'room' door.
Egg Inspiration: Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Raven'

Egg Name: The Pirate Egg
Egg Description: This large egg is colorful, sporting splashes of magenta, cyan, cerulean, peach, and scarlet to name the main blobs of color. There a a blob of white centered between the top and bottom of the egg, which looks a bit like a skull, and the smaller spalshes of white below it look a bit like bones crossed. It is perhaps the largest egg in the clutch.
Egg Inspiration: The Pirates of Penzance, the play my college recently put on.

Egg Name: Limerick Egg
Egg Description: A small egg, Limerick doesn't command the respect that the larger, fancier, more elaborate eggs do. More often than not, people laugh or blush when they pass by, perhaps thinking it is out of place in such grand company. Still, the contents are the same as many of those 'nobler' ones.
Egg Inspiration: not sure what you want here, just trying to think of a form of literature a little different…

The limerick packs laughs anatomical
In space that is quite economical,
But the good ones I've seen
So seldom are clean,
And the clean ones so seldom are comical.

Egg Name: Reflective Daylight Egg
Egg Description: This small egg doesn't seem to stand out upon first survey of the entire clutch. However, when one gets closer, and sees the warm, bright yellows and oranges that cover this eggshell, one will truly appreciate the warm feelings that seem to emanate from this egg. Yes, for some reason, this egg just seems to radiate feelings of hope, of inspiration, of seizing the day! They don't call it reflective for no reason (even though it's not shiny like a queen egg): it makes a person reflect on themselves, and makes them shine like Rukbat!
Egg Inspiration: The inspiration for this egg came from the lyrics to the song "The Answer Lies Within" by Dream Theater.

Egg Name: The Little Red Riding Egg
Egg Description: A forest green base overlies the cream of this egg. Within this green stands a large pale square, that when you squint at it, almost takes on the look of a cottage, with smoke trailing from a chimney. A small blotch of pink looks to almost resemble a face looking out of a window in the 'cottage' and to the right of the house stands a shadowy canine figure. Along a cream break in the greens a small red figure walks, basket in hand. There seems to be some signifigance to the whole set of characters, but it feels sinister and you could almost wish to reach in and stop what is going to happen next. The face looking out of the window looks worried and you get the feeling that they probably should be. (This bit can be deleted if no one gets the reference) Don't be too worried though. Cos that little red figure seems to be carrying a rather large knife…

Egg Name: Oven Egg
Egg Description: Covered in what seems to be a flat, almost iron grey, the egg doesn't shine at all and is instead a very flat, uninteresting colour. Not hidden, it is simply there, unmoving and with very little going on to look at. Darker lines of black shade the shell, sketching out the shape of a door almost, dotted around the edges. The top is a semi-cirlce, leaving a square base to it. There is what could be a small grill near the top of the 'door', and a peek of orange in the gaps.
Egg Inspiration: Once upon a time a very poor woodcutter lived in a tiny cottage in the forest with his two children, Hansel and Gretel…

Egg Name: Glyph Egg
Egg Description: Hopeful girls may be drawn to this egg for its queenly color, but it is really more brass than gold, and it lacks the metallic sheen of a Queen egg. Even so, this is an interesting egg. It is covered with strange markings that look almost like unreadable symbols. If you stare at it long enough, you might make out pictures…an anchor, a globe, a snake, among other things. The markings seem to be arranged in a circle.
Egg Inspiration: The alethiometer from The Golden Compass by Phillip Pullman.
"It was very like a clock, or a compass, for there were hands pointing to places around the dial, but instead of the hours or the points of the compass there were several little pictures, each of them painted with extraordinary precision, as if on ivory with the finest and slenderest sable brush."

Egg Name: Labyrinth Egg
Egg Description:An off white egg with black speckles that resemble fractured and warped words are thrown haphazardly around the top of the egg, overlapping and skewed in disorderly fashion. These blurbs are falling, straight down from the top to the swamp of blackish blue that is nestled around the bottom. It's a unsettling shade of black that allows one's eyes to get lost in it's depths.
Egg Inspiration: House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

Egg Name: Half of an Egg Egg
Egg Description: This egg is about half the height of a normal egg, but what it lacks in height, it makes up for in roundness. It sports a creamy human skin colored shell, and for all its oddness, attracts a good bit of attention.
Egg Inspiration: JR Tolkien's The Hobbit

Egg Name: Let the Flames Begin Egg
Egg Description: The egg is red, with orange flecks and even a bottom of dark blue. It looks as though it might burn your skin should you touch it, and the flaming shell seems to burn in righteous anger.
Egg Inspiration: Fahrenheit 451

Egg Name: Trail Egg
Egg Description: Standing out at the front, as if proud, this egg is very little to look at. Indeed, while it could stand to be one of the largest of the clutch, it lacks the colouration be be beautiful in any way. An almost solid green, if it weren't for the fact that it seems to bend upwards on the shell in darker and lighter patterns. Like a dark forest with the tress bending up to cover the light. Dotted around the base of the egg are silvery dots, in a perfect circle. No dot is a perfect shape, some are more oval, some are a bit pointed. LIke random silver pebbles on a road.
Egg Inspiration: Once upon a time a very poor woodcutter lived in a tiny cottage in the forest with his two children, Hansel and Gretel…

Egg Name: Thorn Egg
Egg Description: A twisting tale of sharp grey shading and darker shapes that twine and twine around the shell and wrap the poor hatchling inside in a tight bundle of what appears to be vines and thorns, like a bramble bush. While a wicker basket would have been nicer, the branches twine together in a way much like one, each armed with longer, sharp thorns to keep the poor baby inside and away from prying eyes, as if the shell never wants the dragonet to wake up.
Egg Inspiration: The years sped past. In the castle grounds, the trees grew tall. The bushes became thick and straggling, the grass invaded the courtyards and the creepers spread up the walls. In a hundred years, a dense forest grew up, filled with thorns. – Sleeping Beauty
Egg Credit: Lark

Egg Name: Misty Moors egg
Egg Description: Dull beige, browns and greens mottle this egg, leaving it looking like some desolate mountain plain. Swirled across the shell are grey strands that look like mist tendrils. These gather at the left side of the egg to form a dense mist patch, through which glow two burning yellow spots. They remind you of some creature's eyes and you can almost seem to hear a low growl…
Egg Inspiration: Hound of the Baskervilles
Egg Credit: Mayhem

Egg Name: The Lady Egg
Egg Description: This egg is small, possibly you could even call it 'petite'. It's all sorts of pale, pastel shades, from pink to green, the colors melding together to form another pale color. Almost like a pale rainbow exploded on the shell. It looks very effeminate, and gives an aura of being dainty.
Egg Inspiration: The stereotype "Southern Bell" character in some novels, usually romance novels.
Egg Credit: Velcro

Egg Name: Quoth the Raven Egg
Egg Description: The egg is as black as if it had been cut from the midnight sky, carefully to avoid the stars. It has a silvery shimmering aspect to it, like bird wings rearranging itself, as if the shell were in constant, if minute, motion.
Egg Inspiration: The Raven by Mr. Poe
Egg Credit: Shelby

Egg Name: Drowned Egg
Egg Description: A wash of blues and whites, like sea and surf, crash and shatter around this shell. A range of blues - from the deepest sea to the lightest, clear blue and the greenest blue you can imagine – mix and swirl in strips like ribbons that merge and twirl in the splashes of white spray that top small waves. But wait – is that a flash of golden curled hair? A small blurred hand, hidden by the waves? Who knows. But it is certainly an eggs that seems to swallow you up with feelings of jealousy and waves.
Egg Inspiration: One sister hanged herself in rage, and the other drowned herself, and the devil knocked on the door to tell Bearskin that he had gotten two souls instead of Bearskin's one. – Bearskin (German Fairytale, 1812)

Egg Name: Dusk Egg
Egg Description: This medium sized egg has a rather gloomy countenance. The shell is covered with varying shades of gray, all swirled together, from near black to pale silver. Down the center of the egg is a black line which looks almost like a path leading into the distance, and at the end is the single spot of color on the shell, a soft pastel yellow.
Egg Inspiration: Robert Frost's poem Acquainted with the Night.
"I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain - and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light."

Egg Name: The Turquoise Egg
Egg Description: This small egg is so very brightly colored it's hard to decide where to start. It's mottled shades of blues, greens, and blue-greens. The upper half of the shell has splotches of bright sky blue and a dark robin's egg blue against a black background matrix. The middle partition has blue-green splashes of color on a darker forest green background. The lower part of the egg has a true green color, splashes and splotches of bright emerald green against a golden matrix crackled into the background.
Egg Inspiration: The Turquoise manual I've been looking at at work. XD
